K40 doesn't stand behind their products
K40 no longer stands behind their products as compared to how they used too. This is too bad for a company.

This is totally legit!
This one is totally legitimate I have heard now from many K-40 user's that they do not stand behind their product's but hey we gotta let those out there that still use them to put in their .02 about their experiences.

They make cb radio antennas, some good, some not so good, also radar detectors, one dashmount and one remote. Also a laser jammer which isn't so good. IMHO their rd's aren't good either.

I always wanted to know why you can't mention this company's name on rd.net

RR was involved in a lawsuit w/ K40. That is why it cannot be discussed. K40 cb antennas were good in their time. But as always, they were bought out by another company and they don't stand behind their products anymore. If it breaks, it's your fault. Their rd's were fun to fool around w/ and that's about it. I used to own a Laser Diffuser plus LJ but after time, only became extra lidar detection and that's it.

Re: K40 doesn't stand behind their products
I've been "discussing" the K40's performance with someone on another forum. I've never known anyone with a K40 except this one person on that other forum to claim that K40 is all that great. I'd like to have more input and actually see one of these for myself. I've invited this person to compare their K40 with others but haven't gotten a reply from them.
Here's the link if anyone wants to see it: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=482434. BTW, I'm "ersin" in the post.

The K40 dashmounts used to, maybe they still are, be made by beltronics. They used a variation of the M2 horn. I bought a used RD650 or 850 whatever it was, used it for a bit, realised it sucked took it apart to see what was inside and threw it in the trash.

You should have saved it for rdetectingman's "museum" . Or at least taken a picture of the insides before throwing it away.
Cheers.

Re: K40 doesn't stand behind their products
I got a chance to shoot one of the k40 lidar jammers about 2 years ago. instant PT with both the Stalker and PL3 when shooting CM. I could not even tell it was doing anything.
They do a great job of marketing them to high end car dealers though and the markup must be pretty good for those guys to fool with it.

They have newer dashmount model that has GPS in it. I would love to test it and try it out, but $450 is to much to spend for something that probably does not work that well.

Their claim to fame for marketing is "completely customized for your automobile and the way you drive". I suppose this would be compelling especially coming from a dealer or some company that installs mods. I'm sure it's a nice install and people are happy with it. That is, until they get pulled over.
All I get from proponents of this detector is youtube videos showing how much better the K40 is than anything else. But all of these videos are put up by K40 themselves. I've challenged someone to show up with their K40 to one of the countermeasure meet-ups here on the east coast but so far no word on taking me up on the challenge. I really do want to see one of these things up close and see how it does against various threats. Thanks category4.

K-40 is another cobra. Their marketing is great. Their BNG is amazing. Bold New Graphics. Although, their actual detection is pointless. Kind of like another company i know cough RMR?
