Nice save on the Whistler XTR585 this video just goes to show whistler can save your bacon against Ka band just as good as some of the other top flight units at times. You do not always need an escort redline to detect Ka Band radar.

I find this unit to get pretty competitive with my 690SE on the open highway. However once you throw in some curves and forward facing encounters then the 585 falls on its face. Plus the rampup is nonexistent on the 585.
