Picked up Legit X=Band yesterday. Morristown NJ.. C/O!!

Picked up Legit X-Band radar the other day. Constant On radar too! In the town of Morristown NJ! The officer had the gun cranked up so hi on his power that it literally put my x-50 in self cal mode. When I finally moved away from the source to a distance of no detection it never happened again. Was it truly necessary for him to have his gun tweaked so it was transmitting that much power? Is it really necessary? Also, wouldn't that give the officer or the victim cancer due to over radiation?
