Holiday weekend, cops are out!
Just warning everyone that since it's a holiday weekend, the cops are going to be out in full force patrolling the roads. Watch out while your driving this weekend.

Made a 5 hour trip from Huntsville, AL through Atlanta and up to Clemson, SC yesterday and this AM. I saw absolutely nothing in the way of enforcement except one local running lidar on I75 south of Chattanooga. He was on the opposite side of the road, so no fun for me!!
I think it's more media hype than actual enforcement increase, at least in my area.

I saw at least 15 cops in a short stretch of I-94 which was really shocking.

I see in some places they are as thick as bees and others you don't see not even one. Interesting!

You just have to be carefull with trapster..
You have to be cautious trusting trapster hole heartedly. The problem with trapster lies in they delete their points all the time. Meaning legit points that even me, and many other tech savy people have placed are nomore. Which is absurd. Although, that's how trapster works. All those grey point's will not show on your map via gps, and the like. Which is very dangerous. I'm not saying trapster isn't a help at times. I use the database sometimes. Though, lately i've been staying away from it because they kill too many of my known points of interest that have been being used for years even.
When it comes to Lidar, and many other forms of enforcement the reason your seeing them in the same location, is those spots are effective. That, and most people from the outside the local area are not knowledgeable about them. Thus, they can ticket the out of town people that won't be able to come back to fight the citation anyhow. This way it's assured revenue for the county, or state. With lidar it's used frequently in the same locations due to the fact that lidar is a very selective device. Meaning it can only be used in certain environments, such as; no tree's, clear line of sight, lack of ambient weather conditions, sunlight interference just to name a few. Keep these things in mind when your encountering these speed enforcement attacks they can also help you in the future better feel out which areas may be potentially dangerous for future attacks in unknown areas.

I don't trust trapster whole heartedly, it's just another layer in my defense. I only have it scanning for Live police reports, not known points of enforcement.
My reference to Trapster is I have it set up to tell me when someone reports live police within 10 miles of the house and along the routes I take to work and my wifes house. That basically encompasses from downtown Atlanta to Clemson University along I-85. This is about 100 miles of interstate that got 0 live police reports over 3 days now, during what is supposed to be a time of increased enforcement.
Maybe this weekend will be different but so far enforcement along this corridor has been noticeably absent!!
I agree that their spots tend to get reused because they are effective. Not only does this help prey on those least likely to fight the ticket, but 95% of drivers are not paying attention anyway. It's amazing to me how many times I spot the LEO before any of my countermeasures alert me to their presence. When I do I have slowed way before anyone near me realizes there is a threat.
Most people drive right until they are even with the LEO before they even notice he's there, if they even see him at all!! This is why those spots remain effective also. People are oblivious to everything going on around us. Were we not the top predator on the planet we would have been wiped off the planet long ago!!!
