Two Daytona Beach FL police officers, who are accused of purposely damaging a home, were fired Tuesday.

Officers Donald Aldridge and Justin Ranum were placed on administrative leave after being accused of causing $1,400 of damage to a home in August.

Prosecutors said Aldridge and Ranum purposely dented a mobile home while searching for a man there. The man was wanted on fleeing and eluding police.

The officers faced a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief.

The judge in the case ruled prosecutors did not prove malice, but the chief of police said his legal department indicates the officers’ behavior violated procedure.
